Marquee Size & Capacity Guide
Working out the exact dimensions you need for your wedding or garden celebration shouldn’t be guesswork. Here is how we calculate capacity for seated dining, dance floors, bars, and catering space.
Popular Clearspan Marquee Dimensions
These estimates assume standard British dining configurations with space for circulation.
| Target Guests | Suggested Span | Dining Only | With Dance Floor & Bar |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 – 50 Guests | 6m x 12m (20ft x 40ft) | 40 seated | Up to 35 seated + dancefloor |
| 60 – 80 Guests | 9m x 12m (30ft x 40ft) | 70 seated | 60 seated + dancefloor + bar |
| 80 – 110 Guests | 9m x 15m (30ft x 50ft) | 100 seated | 80 – 90 seated + dancefloor + bar |
| 110 – 140 Guests | 9m x 18m (30ft x 60ft) | 130 seated | 110 – 120 seated + dancefloor + stage |
| 150 – 200+ Guests | 12m x 21m+ (40ft x 70ft+) | 190 seated | 150 – 170 seated + dancefloor + lounge |
Square Footage Per Guest
Allow 15–18 sq ft per person for 5ft round tables. For long rustic trestle tables in banquet rows, you only need 12–14 sq ft per guest.
Adding an Evening Party Bay
A standard 15ft x 15ft vintage pine dance floor comfortably holds 35–45 active dancers at once. We typically add one extra 3m bay of length to accommodate it cleanly.
Zero Internal Centre Poles
Because Clearspan frame marquees have aluminium rafters, they only require 0.5m clearance around the exterior. No guy ropes means 100% of your garden lawn space is usable.
