We couldn’t recommend Ben and his team highly enough! My family and I were hosting a charity event last Saturday in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and we were in need of some sort of gazebo/marquee structure. I contacted 6 or 7 local companies and Ben was the only one decent enough to even respond. Then for him to offer a 6mx6m marquee which the team would install all free of charge to help with our fundraising efforts was just incredible.

We were hoping for anything and were expecting a fairly small maybe old structure as we understood that what we were asking was a lot!
However what we received was just perfect for the day, such a great size and looked basically brand new! Guy and Komma who came to install it (it took an hour and half) were such lovely, professional lads and you couldn’t fault them one bit!

Even though it was for charity and therefore free of charge, Ben made sure that nothing was less than we’d have expected if we’d had paid for it.

Ben and the team where professional to the core. Nothing was an issue when it came to the right solutions for our daughters wedding in August of this year. Our field was ridge and furrow but the guys did a sterling job working late at night to get the floor and marquee finished on time. Ben was also very knowledgable in his contacts for various other elements we wanted such as a chill-out area and bar recommending equally brilliant companies. The wedding went extremely smoothly with the help of a professional team of suppliers, especially Wings Events. We would not hesitate to recommend them more highly and would 100% use them again.

Ben and team were fantastic to deal with for providing our wedding marquee. Everything was very professional , organised and relaxed throughout. Ben was always able to help with any queries and went above & beyond to help make everything run smoothly & we can’t thank him enough! The marquee itself looked awesome & everything was of high quality. It was great to be able to choose some added extras but not be obliged to have everything.
Thanks again for all your hard work involved in our amazing day.

Attention to Detail

We can’t thank Ben and team enough for the amazing marquee they provided for our wedding celebrations last month. The service and attention to detail on every aspect was incredible and needless to say the marquee was stunning and exceeded all expectation. Due to all your meticulous hard work, the whole occasion ran really smoothly. Everyone else involved in organising the “do” also commented on how helpful and professional the ‘marquee people’ were. So thank you very much

– very best wishes, Ro & Mike

Stress Free Wedding Planning

Dear Ben and team

Thank you for supplying the beautiful marquee for our wedding. It was lovely to have someone who took care of everything from chairs through to the generator. It made for a very stress free wedding planning. You were fantastic to work with and we really appreciated your efforts to avoid damaging the wet field as well.

Find the Perfect Tables for your Wedding Reception Today

One of the great benefits of having a marquee wedding is that you can be in complete control over the look and design of your reception venue. From floor to ceiling, you call all the shots for a unique venue that reflects your personalities and taste. One surprisingly important part of this is choosing the shape of the tables at your reception. Each shape of table offers its own range of benefits, and depending on what type of wedding reception you want, some may work better than others.

Here at Wings Events, we’ve worked with hundreds of happy couples to plan their wedding marquees, including tables and we know there’s no single right answer.

Round Tables

If you want a timeless feel to your wedding reception, round tables are the classic choice. Provided you choose centrepieces that aren’t too tall or wide, round tables are excellent for ensuring that your guests can easily talk each other across the table, as well as the people immediately next to them.

If you like the idea of round tables, but want to get away from the traditional feel, you can choose to have a selection of larger and smaller tables for your guests. As well as providing the atmosphere you want, it means that you don’t have to perfectly divide your guest list into groups of 10, and gives you more control ensuring your guests are sat with people they know and feel comfortable around.

The one downside to round tables is that they take up a lot of room compared to other options,
meaning that you’ll most likely need to book a bigger marquee. Either way, your marquee company should happily work with you to ensure you have plenty of space, regardless of your table shapes.

Rectangular/Trestle Tables

Rectangular trestle tables offer a more modern feel to your wedding marquee, although they’re also popular for whimsical, vintage and retro wedding themes as well. By joining trestle tables for a banquet-style layout, you can create a very regal and majestic look, especially with a series of low-height centrepieces running down the length of the tables. Trestle tables are a great option if you’d like to save space, as you can fit more guests around the tables, making them the ideal solution if you’re working with a smaller budget.

The one downside to rectangular tables, especially if you do decide to arrange them in a banquet style, is that your guests can only really talk to the people either side of them and opposite them. This means you’d probably have to consider your seating plan carefully to ensure that everyone can have a good conversation over dinner.

Here at Wings Events, we have a wide range of round and trestle tables for you to choose from and our professional and friendly team will work with you to help you choose the best type of table for your wedding reception. However you decide to design your marquee, you can relax know the team at Wings Events is here to help.

How To Guarantee The Perfect Wedding, Despite The Weather

Every soon-to-be-married couple wants their wedding day to be perfect. But the truth is that some variables are simply out of your control. You can choose the venue, the wedding planner, the photographer, the caterer and more. You can even choose the season in which you get married. But there’s no way to guarantee how the skies will behave on your special day.

If you’re planning a wedding in Northampton, you don’t have to resign yourself to suffering through the whims of the weather. Here are some tips for making the most of the weather from the events experts at Wings Events:

1. Have a Back-Up Plan

This is the number-one rule of arranging a weather-proof wedding. If any portion of your celebration is scheduled to take place outside (or could otherwise be affected by inclement weather), you’ll be glad you have a back-up in place should bad weather strike.

In addition to having a contingency plan, it’s also helpful to include ‘rain cards’ with your invitations. These ensure that every guest who has been invited also knows what the alternative plan is. Finally, as long as your wedding isn’t too large of an affair, you might consider setting up a team that you can notify in case plans change. That team can then relay the new plans to those they’re responsible for notifying.

2. Work Some Extra Time into the Schedule

This is a good idea regardless of weather conditions. Working some extra time into your wedding-day schedule ensures that you’ll be able to keep up as unexpected complications arise. And in the event that severe weather creates dangerous driving conditions, your guests will also be able to drive safely (and slowly) from the ceremony to the reception.

3. Equip Your Guests for the Weather

This is particularly important if you’ll be exchanging vows outdoors. Stock up on extra umbrellas and place them around the guest area so that those who didn’t bring one of their own can still stay dry. You could also go beyond umbrellas and invest in a few extra pairs of wellies of various sizes.

4. Select a Venue with Indoor and Outdoor Space

Selecting a wedding venue with viable indoor and outdoor space is a great way to ensure that you’re ready for whatever the weather throws at you. If an unexpected rainstorm forces everyone inside, you can easily salvage the ceremony with an adjoining indoor space.

Just make sure that the indoor component of your wedding venue is still a place you would like to conduct the ceremony in. You don’t want to find yourself surrendering to a cramped indoor space because it is your only option. Instead, make this a vetting point in the venues you consider early in the planning process.

5. Hire a Photographer with Rainy-Day Experience

Some photographers are better at coping with less-than-ideal weather than others. When you’re shopping around for wedding photographers, have a look at their portfolio for examples of past work they’ve done in inclement weather.

Wonderful Job

Dear Ben, Simon, and all of the fabulous Wings Team!

For the utterly wonderful job you all did at Stanwick Hall for Simon’s 50th. The guests were blown away by the marquee and Gina and I were equally blown away by your commitment, professional approach and kindness throughout. We simply couldn’t have achieved what we did without you so thank you, thank you, thank you all. Ben, you are a superstar and we will be forever grateful for all your phone calls, friendly bits of advice and big smile along the way.

With very best wishes, Emma x

Suntreckers which is our camping and caravanning club have been using Wings for a number of years for our gala rally and AGM, they have always been helpful, always on time and the marquees they use are top quality, we are a medium sized group and need to be mindful of costs, Wings have helped us through that process and I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone thinking of using their services.
